Fishing Report for Devils Lake, ND
Fishing has been excellent the past week, even with the high winds. Lots of 17” to 18” walleye being caught with an occasional 20” plus. Live bait has been producing a lot of fish in 6 ½ feet to 9 feet of water. Spinners with a leech and slow death with a half a crawler has been our choice of presentation right now. We are moving our live bait at 1 to 1.1 mph, seems if we go slower or speed it up they didn’t want anything to do with it. We are working weed lines and windblown points. When the fishing slows down in the shallow water try sliding out a little deeper to see if they moved out or pull #5 shad raps through the area to change it up. Some of the areas to try would be Pelican Lake, Doc Hagen’s, Howards Bay and the Minnewaukan Humps.
Good luck out on the lake and stay safe.
